हिताहितं सुखं दुःखं आयुः तस्य हिताहितं ।
मानं च तच्च यत्रोक्त आयुर्वेद स उच्यते ।।
This shloka from Charak Samhita explains the essence of Ayurveda and Yoga in its eternity. The Veda or knowledge of healthy and unhealthy, happy and unhappy states of life is the ancient science of Ayurveda. Anahata- The Ayurveda Kutir follows the same philosophy. The purpose of Ayurveda is not just maintaining the balance in the physical and emotional health of the person but it is the science that strives to improve the quality of life and bring happiness to the world. It is the doorway to spiritual healing and awakening.
The present world is in a state of despair and suffering. A stressful lifestyle, an unbalanced diet and a disconnection with nature have created an imbalance in the physical, emotional and spiritual well being of the person. Not only have people started developing millions of health disorders but they also suffer from deep emotional crises every now and then. People have accepted this as a way of life and forgotten the meaning of happiness. They have abandoned the connection that they have with themselves. Ayurveda and Yoga remind them of that connection, bring them closer to nature and let them connect to their roots. Yogic philosophies and Ayurvedic treatments do not just heal the people but awaken the true sense of happiness in them. They bring back the balance that exists between the body, mind and soul.
The world has transformed the meaning of Yoga into being just a form of physical exercise. Yoga does not just concern itself with the physical health of the person, but also the emotional and spiritual health. You can eliminate any health disorder through Yoga therapies and practices but you may also remove toxins from your mind and bring peace within yourself. Yoga is the key to the union of the body, mind and spirit. Through Yoga, you may awaken your Chakras and Kundalinis for enlightenment and awakening.
Ayurveda is a way of living life. It is not just a science of medicinal treatments but a lifestyle approach to happiness. By understanding the connection we have with nature, consuming a balanced and proper diet, and practising Yoga and meditation, we can not just live a healthier life but also a happier one. In the modern life of stress and innumerable health problems, Ayurveda becomes the key to improving the quality of life we are living and bringing happiness to our lives.
