Anahata – The Ayurveda Kutir presents to you the Ayurveda fundamental course. This course is for everyone who wants to learn the ancient science of health and wellness. It will provide an opportunity to explore Ayurveda from the core. The basic principle of Anahata- The Ayurveda Kutir is to spread the elixir of happiness through better health and improved quality of life.
It is said that Brahma imparted the wisdom of Ayurveda to Prajapati and he continued teaching the same to his disciples.

Following the same goal, we aim to teach Ayurveda basics to seekers from all around the globe. This course is best for all Ayurveda enthusiasts and students. - This Ayurveda Fundamental Course is designed for students who want to learn the ancient science of health and wellness and unearth the natural and holistic means of living a healthier and happier life.

In this section of the course, you will learn about the origin and history of Ayurveda, gain a complete overview of the 5000-year-old scripture, understand the objectives and goals of Ayurveda, study the definition of health as explained in Ayurveda, and understand the importance of health and longevity.
- Fundamental Principles of Ayurveda:
Ayurveda is a science of health and wellness. There are certain fundamental principles around which the entire Ayurveda functions and progresses. Understanding these concepts will give us a better and deeper understanding of Ayurveda and make us more proficient in this science.
- The Concept of Tridosha:
According to Ayurveda, diseases and disorders are caused by an imbalance in Tridoshas. Tridoshas form the core of Ayurveda principles. The entire Ayurveda revolves around these three Doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Without a deep understanding of this concept, one can never comprehend Ayurveda.
- The Concept of Body Type or Prakriti:
Each person has a dominant Dosha or a combination of dominant Doshas. This unique projection of Doshas form different body types, called Prakriti. Prakriti Parikshan or identification of body types is the first step in any treatment involved in Ayurveda. In this section, you will learn about different body types and the ways to identify them.
- The Concept of Panch Mahabhoot (Five Elements Theory):
The human body, the surrounding nature and this entire universe are formed from five elements: Air, Water, Earth, Sky and Ether. In this section, you will gain an overview of all these five elements that form the base of the body.
- Study of Use of Different Oils:
Abhyanga is one of the most important methods of detoxification and treatment. It involves massage done from warm oils. Oils are an important component of many Ayurveda therapies. More than 500 methods of oil preparation exist for different therapeutic uses. In this section, you will learn about the use of four most important base oils that can be used for the treatment of a variety of problems.
- Dosha based Ahara (Diet based on Dosha):
A balanced diet is one of the three pillars of Ayurveda. But a balanced diet varies from person to person and depends mostly on the Dosha constitution of the person. In this section, you will learn about the diet suitable for different Dosha imbalance.
- Kitchen Pharmacy:
Indian kitchens and Indian cooking are full of spices and herbs. These natural spices, if used in a specific way, can help us deal with many problems. In this section, you will explore the pharmacy that exists within the confines of your kitchen and learn to use spices with better health objectives.
- General Medicines for Common Diseases:
In this section, you will learn about the Ayurveda medicines used for the treatment and prevention of common health disorders.
- The Concept of Ama:
Toxins in Ayurveda are called Ama. According to Ayurveda, toxins accumulation is the reason behind most diseases. Therefore, detoxification is one of the major methods of treatment involved in this practice. In this section, you will understand the concept of Ama in Ayurveda and learn about the Ayurveda methods to remove toxins from the body.
- Mechanism of Fasting:
In this section, you will learn about the concept and benefits of fasting. You will also explore the different methods of fasting.
- Therapeutic Study of the Mudras:
Mudras are poses that have healing and therapeutic effects on the body and the mind. In this section, you will learn about the various mudras discussed in Ayurveda and their benefits and scope in dealing with disorders.
- Study of Ritucharya or Seasonal Regime:
According to Ayurveda, your lifestyle should be modified and your diet should be regulated with seasonal variations. In this section, you will understand the concept of Ritucharya and the fundamental principles involved in it.
- Study of Dinacharya or Daily Regime:
Daily routine affects the balance of body, mind and spirit, which is one of the underlying principles of Ayurveda. In this section, you will understand the concept of a daily regime and also learn about the ideal daily regime.
- Ayurveda Superfoods:
Certain herbs and foods mentioned in Ayurveda can be consumed regularly for their many medicinal properties. They can treat and prevent an array of diseases. In this section, you will study these superfoods and also learn about their medicinal properties.

It is best for students who can manage to come for a few weeks to Rishikesh, the land of Yoga. In this section, you will learn the recipe to dishes, elaborated in Ayurveda, that can effectively maintain the perfect balance in the body with the optimum selection of the six Rasas.
- The Recipe of Herbal Teas:
In this section, you will learn the recipe of teas made from various herbs of Ayurveda, that can balance each Dosha effectively. You will also learn the recipe for herbal teas that can help in the treatment of five common problems.
- Training in Full Body Massage:
In this section, you will gain deep knowledge about the anatomy of the body and learn the art of massage under the guidance of Dr Shreejit Ghadigaonkar and the esteemed therapists of Anahata. This training is extremely deep and will constitute many major segments.
- Head Massage and Neck Training:
In this section, you will learn about:
- The various methods of the massage
- General anatomy of the head
- Important Marma points
- Important oils for joints, especially neck
- Common issues related to the neck and how to encounter those problems.
- Back Massage:
In this section, you will learn about:
- The methods of massage on the back.
- General anatomy of the back and the spinal cord
- Important oils for the back relief
- Common issues related to the knee and how to encounter those problems.
- Legs Massage:
In this section, you will learn about:
- The various methods of leg massage
- General anatomy of the legs and knee joint

- Detailed Study of Nasyam Therapy:
According to Ayurveda, the nose opens the doors to the brain. Learning the art of Nasyam will enable you to solve many health problems and disorders by administering medication through the nostril. In this section, you will explore Nasyam Therapy in detail. You will also learn the practical knowledge of Nasyam Therapy.
- Brief Knowledge of Swedana:
Herbal steams can be extremely effective to remove toxins or Ama from the body. In this section, you will explore the knowledge of the steam therapy called Swedana.

This course is suitable for people who cannot spare time on a regular basis but want to gain knowledge of Ayurveda. At Anahata, they can follow their passion and learn the ancient science of health and wellness through pre-recorded sessions at their own pace and time. This course will be divided into three levels. After completion of each level, the student can move up to the subsequent level. However, the certification for the beginner’s course in Ayurveda will only be granted after the completion of all three levels.
